The Community Living Center (CLC) is a 2-story building on the VA Reno campus. The facility includes 24 resident rooms, common areas and support services. The project shall meet VA sustainable design and energy reduction requirements and receive USGBC’s LEED Silver certification.
The CLC takes into consideration existing Building 10, a 24-7 operating facility providing long-term care for sixty residents. Designs are being developed with staffing efficiency in mind while reflecting the VA’s CLC philosophy incorporating elements of home and privacy, minimizing the institutional aspect.
Site work includes demolition of the existing parking lot and sidewalks, relocation of domestic water and fire lines, new sewer and storm drain connections, construction of new vehicle drop-off, sidewalks and landscaping.
Hilliard Architects is joint venturing with a local Reno architecture firm to provide professional A/E services including programming, schematic design, construction documents and construction phase services.
