CASp 101 – an excellent seminar

January 29, 2016  /  in Accessibility  /

Our Carlos Zamudio and Mike Hilliard attended “CASp 101: Certification and Practice.” This excellent seminar was taught by Ida Antoniolli Clair, AIA, LEED AP, CASp, DSA Senior Architect.

Important takeaway for our healthcare clients: placing furniture/equipment near doors, building controls, and in cafeterias with required accessibility clearances. Statutory damages of $1,000-$4,000 per infraction plus attorney fees quickly add up.

A Certified Access Specialist (CASp) is trained and tested to inspect buildings and sites for compliance with state and federal construction-related accessibility standards.
